As a Retirement Plan Sales Consultant, your goal will be to raise and retain assets through a consultative approach. You’ll partner with an External Wholesaler or two to develop and maintain relationships with financial advisors and other intermediaries in order to sell American Funds products.


• Initiate sales by making personalized outbound calls 

• Develop strategies for product positioning and sales opportunities

• Execute strategic territory coverage by partnering with your wholesaler 

• Exhibit deep knowledge of investment concepts

• Deliver effective presentations to promote American Funds 

• Acts as a technical and educational resource


• 3 years of direct sales and distribution of qualified retirement plans, including 401(k), PSP, MMP and ERISA sponsored 403(b)

FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 6, 63 desired, but not required

          o Completion of FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 6, and 63 required within 7 weeks of hire

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with an expertise in adapting to different audiences 

• Ability to articulate specific sales strategies and processes

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
