Platform Design Services is a core platform team responsible for designing, building and deploying enterprise platform solutions on-premises or in the cloud.  We are looking for an innovative and disruptive Senior Platform Engineer to lead our expansion to containerization and the public cloud, from strategy to design, build, deployment and support.
You are a highly creative and intellectually curious senior-level engineer, who is passionate about leading-edge distributed computing platforms and has an obsession with efficiency using automation and a devops pipeline. As part of a high velocity, results-oriented team, you will play an integral part in building and advancing the enterprise cloud technology eco-system and actively participate in building a culture of technical excellence. You will champion and lead the design of a hybrid multi-cloud solution to support the adoption and deployment of cloud native services and APIs.  You will lead the design, build and deployment of container and container orchestration technology. You will help shape the devops engineering culture and best practices across the enterprise.
  • Architect, design, and develop technical solutions to enhance the enterprise cloud environment on-premise or in the cloud
  • Define and meet scalability, availability, security and performance goals for the solution
  • Research and analyze cloud technology trends for potential impact  to the enterprise technology strategy and recommends appropriate changes and areas for future enhancement
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 7+ years of platform engineering or system engineering

Strong understanding and hands-on experience with:

  • Implementing and deployed IaaS, PaaS workloads in a hybrid deployment model
  • 3 recent years of experience in distributed computing or cloud computing platforms Experience with 2 or more platforms, such as: 
    • Redhat Openshift, Rancher, Docker EE
    • AWS and Azure cloud services (IaaS and PaaS)
    • Docker technology, Kubernetes
  • Solid coding and automation development skills with experience in at least one of the following toolsets, languages: Python, GoLang, Ruby, Node.js, Javascript
  • Comfortable and productive in at least one of the following configuration tools and automation platform: 
    • Ansible, Terraform
    • Azure Runbook/Azure resource manager, PowerShell DSC
    • AWS Cloudformation and cloud formation template
  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tool chains such as: 
    • Atlassian Suite, Jenkins
