The Crisis Management Business Continuity department (CMBC) is a global organization of Business Continuity professionals whose activities are governed, directed and fully supported by the Executive leadership of all Capital Group (CG) business operating companies. The objective of the department is to establish, maintain, and continually improve a global Crisis Management and Business Continuity Management program that is consistent with sound Crisis Management Business Continuity principles, recognized industry standards and best practices. As a Summer Associate based in Irvine you will have an opportunity to learn about our organization and business through the Crisis Management Business Continuity lens. You will gain hands-on experience working alongside the Crisis Management team to support department objectives focused on enhancing response capabilities and preparedness. 


What you’ll do:

  • Conduct testing and risk assessments on business continuity/disaster recovery plans, finding opportunities for improvement
  • Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for improvement, including risk assessments 
  • Enhance communication and template standardizations to ensure consistency and industry standards are being met
  • Expand your Crisis Management and Business Continuity knowledge base and grow your professional network


What we look for:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree, sophomore or junior standing
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Interest in Emergency/Crisis Management or Business Continuity Management field preferred
