Global Finance partners with Capital Group business units to proactively provide relevant, timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis, innovative solutions and other insightful information that impacts business decision-making while protecting company interests.

As a Senior Financial Analyst located in Irvine, CA or Los Angeles, CA, you will be a member of the Strategic Analysis team.  You will lead and/or engage in strategic analysis and other projects directly with senior business leaders to deliver impactful insights and financial service to enable the business units to be successful. This position provides broad exposure and high visibility across departments and functions.



  • Develop and delivers moderate to complex financial analysis to support business operations and decisions
  • Partner with and influence business partners on financial related questions and issues and lead projects that may result in broad operational or strategic recommendations to business partners
  • Proactively develops and maintains relationships with business partners through regular involvement/interaction to understand business drivers and anticipate future needs
  • Proactively communicates relevant financial information and messaging with appropriate level of detail depending on the audience and recommends analyses and/or reports that will support and influence business decision-making and problem-solving
  • Independently coordinates and manages projects and ad-hoc deliverables and communicates regularly with associates within Global Finance on evolving business needs
  • Develops and maintains a deeper understanding of business operations, key drivers and relevant external practices for assigned business areas and applies that understanding appropriately
  • Provides leadership and participates in training and development of other associates



  • Minimum of 8 years of related financial analysis experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or CPA strongly desired
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to understand the impact of operations on financial results, as well as the ability to think and act independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills and the ability to communicate progress and difficulties with projects and to report issues and results to a variety of associates
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with others within and outside of the organization
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and the ability to work comfortably with other programs in Microsoft Office
  • Role may be based in either Irvine or Los Angeles with expectation of at least 1-2 days per week spent in Irvine working with Strategic Analysis team
