As one of our Human Resources Advisors, you will be a key member of the HR team supporting Capital Group’s American Funds Service Group (AFSG). You will be a member of our shared services HR team called Ask HR. Ask HR is responsible for supporting AFSG’s over 2,000 front-line associates and managers. This position will be located in our Irvine, California location and provide support across all four of our service center locations: Norfolk, VA, Carmel, IN, San Antonio, TX, and Irvine, CA.  


You’ll respond to general HR inquiries regarding policies and procedures, primarily via a centralized phone system. You’ll diagnose and resolve full scope associate relations matters and partner across the HR team in order to provide recommendations and appropriate action that leads to resolution. Your stakeholders will include HR specialist groups (e.g. HR business partners, benefits, legal).  You’ll facilitate career development conversations along with other training sessions to enhance associate development and growth. You’ll support activity related to performance management and leverage tools and resources including the Capital Career Resources system. To thrive in this role, you excel at managing competing priorities and have conscious processes in your current role that guarantee accuracy.

  • You’ve had previous experience in an HR function where you demonstrate knowledge of HR processes and policies, legal compliance and best practices or you’ve managed people. 
  • You have a solid background in addressing complex performance management and other employee relations issues.
  • You are a skilled communicator. You place a high value on being authentic, respectful and engaging. You’ve facilitated a variety of successful meetings ranging in size, with a diverse group of associates and senior business leaders.
  • You’re up for a challenge. Our environment is fast-paced, and no two days are the same.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree.
