As a Senior Business Program Manager in the Project Office team you will manage a portfolio in an area of American Funds Service Group (AFSG). You will lead key business initiatives and facilitate the annual business planning process. You will partner with business leaders to develop and maintain business plan objectives while ensuring projects are effectively supported. You will focus specifically on the adoption of digital services by American Funds Service clients and continue to evolve digital capabilities to drive critical business outcomes.  You will engage with leaders to understand the strategic drivers of their business and priorities to ensure alignment with your digital plans. We will leverage your expertise of project management which includes process management methodology (e.g. agile), experience with vendor management and directing business planning discussions.


Your style is consultative in nature and you possess the ability to interpret key business drivers and ensure project efforts align to business outcomes. You thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments where your strategic and consultative skills help to build strong partnerships and influence the business. You will foster a culture where associates feel valued, engaged, and able to connect their contributions to the broader strategic priorities.

  • You’ve led large scale projects and are familiar with project life cycles. Your resilience has helped when you’ve enlisted the collaboration of others, sifted through large data sets, re-prioritized, strategized, tailored communication, embraced conflict and identified critical issues.
  • You have experience as a senior manager and have successfully managed complex projects in a matrixed environment.
  • You are adept at business case and problem statement development and understand the importance of being nimble and pivoting as needed when project plans shift. 
  • You take the time to create and maintain meaningful relationships. You're a generous collaborator. You've fine-tuned your communication style to influence a variety of personalities.
  • You’re highly curious in everything you do. You’re devoted to continuous learning, development, and you find new ways of challenging yourself.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree.
