The Global Business Services IT team provides application development and support services to multiple lines of business including Global Finance, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, Human Resources/Payroll, Office Services, Corporate Communications, Corporate Legal, Global Risk Management and Information Technology.  We deliver technology solutions in support of Capital Group’s strategy to build and maintain high quality technical solutions that maximize business value.

As a Senior Manager, Application Services based in Irvine, CA, you will lead teams of IT professionals responsible for providing services and solutions for Global Finance and Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P). 

Responsibilities:

  • Build deep and trusted relationships with key business partners based on a thorough and deep understanding of Global Finance and Procurement business models
  • Provide sponsorship and direction for department projects and Information Technology Group initiatives
  • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with key external partners, including a variety of software partners and off-shore development resources while monitoring their performance and holding them accountable to key deliverables and SLAs
  • Manages performance of managers in the group and assures effective performance of each team member
  • Forecast and manage departmental budgets, technology and staffing strategies

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical foundation to include an undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field
  • Minimum of ten years of experience managing IT teams in application development and/or infrastructure
  • A demonstrated track record of success in serving as a liaison between business lines and IT with an ability to influence at all levels, including partners outside the organization
  • Management experience in a large IT organization with a large, complex, and multi-platform technical environment and complex, multi-year technology projects
  • Experience with the SAP product suite (SAP ECC, BW, HANA, Concur, Ariba, Fieldglass, SAP Analytics Cloud and S4 Finance) desirable, but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high performing teams including identifying and developing high potential individuals
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
