As a Solutions Engineer based in Irvine, CA, you will play a critical role in designing, developing and testing a business process analytics platform that monitors and reports on the performance of nightly batch processing systems. Ideally, team members will have a background in computer science or demonstrate a good working knowledge of object-oriented programming techniques and development technologies such as Java, SQL and Angular 7. In addition, an understanding of Agile methodologies and a demonstration of a DevOps mindset and its application would be beneficial. Strong analytical capabilities and communication skills are a must.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Interface directly with business users to gather, track, and prioritize business requirements, and translate them into technical specifications     
  • Analyze and make improvement recommendations to business processes and application features to resolve defects and/or enhance business capabilities
  • Participation in all phases of the software development life cycle including requirements gathering, designing, coding, testing, deploying, and providing production support of application solutions
  • Make recommendations for technical designs that align with technology standards and architectural guidelines
  • Identify and help acquire data from a diverse array of sources, map data origin, data movement, interfaces, and analytics, with the goal of establishing the highest degree of overall data accuracy and usefulness
  • Help influence business users, technology partners and vendors to create solutions in the best interest of Capital’s business needs
  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations to enhance development practices and processes of the team
  • Create documentation of system designs and solution blueprints
  • Develop best effort estimates for project planning
  • Evaluate key interfaces and interdependencies of core application components and systems
  • Provide timely and effective communication regarding work status to appropriate stakeholders
  • Escalate issues and propose solutions where appropriate

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 0-3 years of experience leveraging fundamental knowledge of application design principles, systems analysis and development
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle, experience with Agile methodologies a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to adjust communication approach & style to accommodate variety of technical and non-technical audiences

 

Required Skills:
