As a Solutions Engineer in the Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE) team based in Irvine, CA, you will collaborate with business, development, TSO, and architecture teams to define and execute test strategies for complex projects, act as a subject matter expert for investment systems test flow, and provide leadership/mentorship to the testing team. You will be part of a team responsible for analyzing requirements/tests, identifying/provisioning test data requirements, contributing to technical test design, and working across multiple technology platforms.  Critical thinking, data analysis, and problem solving skills are a must. 
General Responsibilities:
  • Under limited supervision, leads and personally contributes to solution delivery through SDLC activities (analysis, development, testing, deployment, support, etc.) for one or more business capabilities and/or products.
  • Influences business and technology teams. Works in close collaboration with business partners and IT teams, and vendor partners.
  • Partners and consults with business/IT partners to analyze and document complex business scenarios for test validation. Provide recommendations based on industry trends, business products, competitors and performance analysis for optimal business solutions. Articulates benefits and analyzes feasibility, cost ramifications, economies, or other aspects of programs.
  • Leads different parts of solution delivery along with internal technology, vendor and business partners. Collaborate with business partners and IT leadership teams to develop test strategies.
  • Responsible for leading testing on multiple projects, including end to end integration testing, performance testing, test automation, project communication, project financials, and on-going support with IT and business partners
  • Consults with Senior Management on test process design, technical design/engineering based on industry trends and directions. Coaches colleagues on testing standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrates thought leadership and a deep understanding of supported business capabilities; understands and appropriately applies industry trends/products/solutions to solving business problems.
Testing Responsibilities:
  • Define roadmap for test phases of large programs and provide guidance on industry validation process
  • Develop and drive test strategy and approach for multiple programs and releases 
  • Facilitate discussions with business, architecture, technology and testing teams to elicit/confirm  requirements and develop validation scope
  • Identify tools and technologies to implement to enhance the test coverage and effectiveness
  • Actively monitor effectiveness of test function and identify/drive continuous improvements 
  • Provide guidance to design and implementation of program test metrics
  • Perform root cause analysis and statistical analysis on defects/trends and initiate improvement actions
  • Provide subject matter expertise for agile software testing standards and processes   
  • Provide technical/functional test training for IT teams
  • Manage test infrastructure requirements/maintenance including environments, data, and configuration
  • Provides guidance and strategic direction for Test Center of Excellence
  • Ability to analyze investment business capability requirements and solution blueprint, develop business process test flow and manage requirements coverage
  • Design and drive end to end test strategy for fixed income investment management business capabilities, including FX and Derivative asset classes
  • Drive program test strategy for UAT along with business analysts and business users
  • Design enterprise batch execution strategy for Fixed Income end to end test requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a related field or equivalent
  • Minimum 8+ years of work experience in development/testing
  • Hands on experience with investment platforms for order management, trading, and compliance
  • Good understanding of Front, Middle, and Back office processes, and day over day life cycle events for Fixed Income instruments
  • Good comprehension/working experience of various technologies and messaging protocols (e.g. real time services, file based delivery)
  • Hands on project delivery experience on complex projects, spanning across different teams/business/IT partners
  • Advanced knowledge of application design and integration principles, practices, systems development and analysis
  • Good technical knowledge of both frontend/backend technologies (Java, Angular, Spring, REST, AWS)
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication and skills
