The marketing organization at Capital Group has created the concept of a “POD”, which is essentially a small group of multi-talented resources that deliver experiences focused on a specific customer segment.  Each POD is fully accountable for strategizing, designing and deploying the correct combination of customer research, customer journeys, and messaging required to create experiences that increase customer engagement and ultimately sales.


We are looking to add an additional business facing Senior Solutions Engineer for marketing IT to our team, who will support one or more of these Marketing PODs as an embedded IT liaison. This is an exciting role where creative problem solving is used to connect current and emerging technologies, processes and solutions together in unique ways to meet business objectives. A successful candidate will leverage strong digital marketing awareness, and a consultative approach to deliver technology enablement. You will utilize your business and marketing acumen to creatively leverage technology in unique ways, and your relationship-building skills to bring together the right combination of business and technology teams to deliver solutions that address POD objectives.   


Business facing Senior Solutions Engineers are expected to understand the goals, processes, and dynamics of the Marketing PODs to both reactively and proactively identify technology opportunities and solutions through partnerships with technical product managers across IT. You will bring together business stakeholders and IT Product teams – creating new connections and strengthening existing relationships. The Senior Solutions Engineer may identify multiple solutions to the same problem and will partner with IT Product Managers and Architecture to recommend both near and longer term options. Candidates must have exceptional communications skills,strong interpersonal savvy, be self-motivated, curious, innovative and mostly self-directed.  



  • Attend Pod Agile ceremonies and ad hoc meetings
  • Research and understand the target Audience for one or more Marketing PODs
  • Strategize with peers and leadership to identify opportunities where technology can help achieve your POD’s goals
  • Clearly articulate technology solution functions and features to POD members with varying level of technical background
  • Develop relationships with different business roles such as Visual Designers, Channel Producers, Copy Writers, Creative Managers, Journey Managers, Audience Managers, Data Analysts, etc.
  • Willingness to travel to downtown Los Angeles minimally once per week
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively across multiple engagements



  • 5+ years combined experience implementing and/or operating digital marketing and sales solutions
  • Specific experience with Adobe Experience Cloud, including Audience Manager, Adobe DTM/Launch, Adobe Analytics, Target, and Adobe Experience Manager are required skills
  • Marketing Cloud, including Exact Target and Journey Builder is highly desired
  • Some history working with information management and/or data warehousing is beneficial
  • Demonstration of success with business facing engagements that required strong relationship management skills is essential
  • Exposure to the asset management industry in particular digital marketing and sales functions is preferred
