As an SRE/architect/engineer Lead, you will assist in architecting, developing, and re-engineering systems/solutions which leverage Cloud built-in services implementing both DevOps and Observability. You will work on a variety of game changing projects, at the forefront of application development and cloud technology adoption. The ideal candidate is a creative and intellectually curious senior level system SRE/architect/engineer, who is passionate about leading edge distributed computing and Cloud platforms and is obsessed with building highly supportable and resilient applications. In this role, you will need to manage cross-functional communication, identify & mitigate risks to efficient delivery, deconstruct ambiguous problems into straightforward solutions, prioritize competing opportunities, and drive understanding for SRE teams as well as the executive layer. You will possess a fearless ability to dive deep, push for timely results, and build consensus across organizations.

 

  • You will assess processes to eliminate or automate repetitive work when cost-effective to do so
  • You will define the appropriate level of supportability and resiliency of systems; defining what's necessary is a practice by itself
  • You will work with Product Managers and Product Owners to define appropriate SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
  • You will design systems with a bias for non-functional requirements (NFRs) to reduce impacts to the end-user experience
  • You will design systems with monitoring, observability, and traceability; ability to ask arbitrary questions about your system without having to know ahead of time what you wanted to ask
  • You will partner with application teams to architect scalable, highly available application solutions that leverage AWS, Azure or GCP services
  • You will work as a technical leader alongside customer business, development, and infrastructure teams
  • You will provide deep software development knowledge with respect cloud architecture, design patterns and programming
  • You will implement SRE/DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, automated deployment, and automated rollback

  • You have a BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • You have 10+ years of platform architecture/engineering or system engineering with at least 4-5 most recent years of experience designing and building applications using AWS IaaS and PaaS services
  • You have experience working with customers, driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
  • You have deep hands-on experience leading the design, development, and deployment of business software at scale or current hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, virtualization experience, and related NFRs
  • You have 5+ years of an application programming, with a passion of designing and implementing highly supportable and reliable applications using load balancing and horizontal/vertical scalability to implement the appropriate resiliency of a system/solution
  • You have experience architecting, designing, and implementing NFRs within AWS across an organization
  • You have experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, and infrastructure as code such as CloudFormation/ARM/Terraform
  • You have experience with APM tools such as DataDog or Dynatrace
  • You have experience engineering data-driven processes that drive business value through real time observability and IT analytics
