Capital Group’s Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) is a newly formed group of 40+ dedicated sourcing and procurement leaders that drive strategic business initiatives.  We are on an exciting multi-year transformational journey to continuously improve capabilities, processes and technologies for our group.

 

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager based in Irvine, you will play a critical role leading a team focused on building category management capabilities across the enterprise. You will be responsible for leading cross functional teams that include SS&P, Global Finance, and business unites thru our category management process designed to develop multi-year strategic plans that deliver measurable business results within targeted areas of third party spend. A key responsibility of this role is to introduce and expand leading practices to improve expense management capabilities across Capital Group. Additionally, as a member of the SS&P management team, you will have broad responsibilities for setting goals and objectives for the department as well as long-term, strategic planning and direct involvement in the performance management process for associates.

 

Responsibilities:
•Provide overall program leadership, establish plans, and steer execution in implementing category management as part of a broader expense management strategy
•Partner with SS&P teams to engage Senior Business leaders to develop strategic plans to expand category management capabilities and steer execution/delivery
•Work closely with all functional business areas to conduct category assessments of third party expense areas leveraging a programmatic approach with processes, tools, and methodologies designed to establish multi-year strategic plans
•Provide support to strategic sourcing analysts by working closely throughout the category management lifecycle to expand knowledge, capabilities, and support delivery of business objectives
•Evolve and continuously improve category management assessment processes, tools and methodologies

 

Qualifications:
•5+ years of strategic sourcing, operations, and our consulting experience in financial services is a plus
•Experience in organizational transformation, capability building, and managing project teams in a matrixed environment
•Demonstrates ability to influence senior business leaders on strategic business matters
•Demonstrates broad business acumen, intellectual curiosity, analytical, and problem solving skills in areas of high complexity, ambiguity and diversity
•Demonstrates ability to lead and manage complex projects of significant scope across the organization
•Demonstrates ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships inside and outside the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives
•A degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration or Professional Sourcing Certification strongly desired
