As a messaging engineer on our team, you have the chance to shape enterprise-wide information technology programs designed to enable common business processes and provide messaging capabilities to applications teams, and their support systems.  Your customer will trust you to not only design and develop these systems, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions.  Grow your skills by merging virtualization and cloud computing to create secure and optimized hybrid solution to support mission critcal systems.  

Engineers in this role will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the project end-to-end, automated test and deployment system (Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment) in the cloud and on premise environment.

 

  • You will use technology to solve business problems and drive positive outcomes
  • You will build a scalable technology platform to support a growing business

  • You will play a key role in building out a large scale distributed and event-based Data Platform
  • You will work with engineering team to peer review and propose process, standards, and guidelines and drive operational maturity of the big data integration platform
  • You will evangelize best practice use cases and provide knowledge transfer and training across teams and to other data movement delivery team members
  • You will perform root cause analysis on incident and problem tickets (4th level)
  • You will analyze service performance to ensure solutions do not impact production systems
  • You will be self-driven and work effectively in a high demand team & project, and highlight any potential risks and issues
  • You will relentlessly pursue self-service, automation capabilities and solutions to reduce development cycle-time
  • You will collaborate with application teams to have a “boots on the ground” understanding of challenges and success
  • You will partner alongside risk and compliance teams to understand and ensure systems and solutions protect the Enterprise

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of experience in system administration, software development, data management and archive system experience
  • You have 10 years’ experience building large scale, real-time distributed systems with solid coding, problem-solving, and design skills. Experience designing/building API’s and microservices.
  • You have experience with Event-driven architecture and messaging frameworks (Pub/Sub, Kafka, and/or RabbitMQ)
  • You have the ability to demonstrate agile team-first attitude towards software development
  • You have experience working with various data stores: SQL, NoSQL, and/or key-value store
  • You have mature engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, secure coding, Git, tracing, alerting, etc)
  • You have experience with container applications (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • You have experience with Amazon Web Service cloud service platforms and web services (Lambda, EC2, S3)
  • You have familiarity with automation software provisioning and configuration management tools (Ansible)
  • You have expert Python scripting knowledge and experience
