Role Summary

The Client Operations team has associates based in Geneva, London and Singapore and is responsible for supporting the operational aspects of pooled and separate account investors across Europe and Asia as well as overseeing the outsourced transfer agency function for our Australia, Luxembourg and UK fund ranges. While there is an expectation that the lead analyst understands the full scope of the work undertaken by the team, this role is for an experienced contributor who operates as a technical subject matter expert (SME) with a focus on independently co-ordinating and/or monitoring transitions across the full range of product structures (predominately separate accounts and Luxembourg funds) and investment products offered by Capital Group (CG) in Europe and Asia.  The lead analyst also works in close collaboration with the management team role modelling CG’s culture, directing work and providing support and guidance to the broader team while promoting a collaborative and positive work environment.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Reviews, oversees and/or leads high impact separate account activities (onboarding, transition and termination) for the Europe and Asia client base, ensuring that all legal, operational, compliance and transitional requirements are comprehensively identified, tasked and completed and with a high level of client service
  • Communicates effectively both internally and externally on the progress of client work, holding regular working group meeting sessions with key stakeholders in order to monitor and manage progress
  • Builds a clear understanding of the function of all business areas, building and maintaining an effective network of strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Applies, designs and implements, business processes and procedures to support a risk-controlled environment within an effective governance framework. Continually identifying and implementing improvements to the control environment both within the team and working with broader stakeholders.
  • Participates actively as a subject matter expert or project manager representing the Client Operations team in exception resolution meetings and relevant governance forums
  • Contributes to internal projects focused on improving Capital’s value proposition as it relates to client operations
  • Acts as first point of escalation, provides guidance and serves as role model for the team
  • Reviews and coordinates the regular activities of the team, including measuring, monitoring and analyzing trends and issues to ensure appropriate focus on high risk items

 

Experience:

  • The ideal candidate has 5-6 years experience of working within the transitions team of an asset management company with a global or ex-North America client base
  • A highly-organized, self-driven and committed team player with intellectual curiosity to learn and expand knowledge
  • Demonstrates ability to apply knowledge of industry regulations and best practices to work assignments, has experience of and exhibits a Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, demanding and ever changing environment while maintaining the highest standard and attention to detail
  • Proven track record of excellent customer service
  • Experience of providing supervision and guidance to a team
  • Professional approach to escalation, prioritization and problem solving
  • Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills, and a track record of effective communication with colleagues, counterparties and clients
