Scope of activities

  1. Investment-related activities
    • Providing deal review support (including in relation to private investments)
    • Advising the Investment Group and Trading on any investment-related issues and transactions
    • Advising on investment objectives and guidelines interpretation
    • Assisting in maintenance and application of our market abuse procedures and policies, including wall-crossings
  2. Institutional Clients/Distributors
    • Strategic clients/distributors agreements and associated legal documentation
    • Helping overseeing contract administrative team in charge of less complex agreements/legal documentation
    • Acting as trusted advisor to the Sales team in Europe as part of the relationship management team
  3. General counselling
    • Anticipating and analysing regulatory developments impacting Capital Group’s business in Europe
    • Advising Executive Management Committees and business groups about regulatory developments
    • Advising operational teams aiming at implementing regulatory developments
    • Participating in Industry working groups on specific regulatory developments
    • Advising and reviewing Capital Group vendor agreements in relation to global finance, human resources, IT, office services, etc.
    • Advising more generally the Capital Group business support teams on any legal issue: global finance, human resources, IT, office services, mobility, etc.


General qualities needed


Technical skills

  • 5 years post-qualification experience with extensive knowledge of M&A or private equity and securities’ industry gained in a top law firm
  • Transaction based experience
  • Lawyer with excellent academics
  • International experience required (including through advising an international client base / US clients would be a plus)
  • Successful in-house experience would be beneficial

Personal skills

  • Team player in an international and multicultural environment
  • Pragmatic approach to solving problems / Business friendliness
  • Identified leadership potential to lead on various projects
  • Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written)
  • Any other second/third fluent languages would be beneficial: French, German, Italian or Spanish
