The Global Fee Consulting team is composed of 10 associates worldwide, with 3 associates dedicated to the Europe Asia Client Group. The team is responsible for supporting the growth of our business, through the effective management and implementation of fee policy across the full range of investment products offered by the Capital Group.

 

 

Primary responsibilities of the role:

  • Capital Group fee policy: Assists in the development of fee policy recommendations and supporting business cases for fee policy and related fee decisions.
  • Develops fee proposals: Assesses and illustrates investment management fee options for investment products and client accounts.
  • Fee implementation: Works with key stakeholders from the client groups, legal and operational teams to implement fee decisions.
  • Fee policy oversight: Maintains and enhances a comprehensive fee policy oversight structure and reports to the to the relevant oversight committees on outcomes.
  • Drafts fee related language for fee schedules, distribution agreements, specific fee terms as well as requests for proposal and client due diligence questionnaires.
  • Participates in regular, extensive benchmarking based on multiple data sources to monitor the competitiveness of Capital Group investment management fee and expense levels.
  • Engages in fee related regulatory projects and processes, including those related to ESMA, CSSF and FCA obligations.

 

Other activities:

  • Projects: Participates and/or leads project initiatives focused on client fee arrangements and fee policy change and implementation.
  • Leverages systems and emerging technologies, actively engages in data management and data governance discussions and participates in system enhancement efforts.
  • Drives to automate and standardize analysis and related presentation materials where possible.
  • Cultivates and manages relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Proactively develops and maintains relationships with the Client Groups, Product, Global Finance, Business Management, Legal and Operational teams, and other partners as appropriate.

 

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of investment management fees and pricing is a plus. This includes knowledge of vehicle structures, third party costs, competitive landscape, reporting and the regulatory environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in complex areas.
  • Rigorous and meticulous attention to detail with the ability to understand the bigger picture.
  • Demonstrates ability to analyse complex data and information, consolidate cross-system information, create summary materials to share findings, and present conclusions and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining highest-quality standards.
  • Strong planning and time management skills, yet flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify, assess, respond to and escalate risks or potential risks encountered through day-to-day activities.
  • Communicates effectively on complex fee matters to internal and external stakeholders
