Role summary: The Client Advocate Specialist will help facilitate the growth of the fixed income institutional business by partnering with the Client Relationship Team and investment operations to provide a superior level of service to our clients.   The role will build strong internal relationships and connect the objectives of the investment, operations and client service teams at Capital Group.   Additionally, the role will advocate on behalf of Capital’s Fixed Income clients and portfolio managers internally to ensure we adapt business operations to support their needs effectively as markets and regulations evolve.

 

Primary responsibilities/essential functions:

Facilitate effective collaboration across Investment Operations and provide a connection point between the investment and client service teams:

 

Build and maintain internal relationships

  • Responsible for independently managing and developing relationships within fixed income investment team, Investment Operations and client groups
  • Understand key objectives and priorities across the investment group, investment operations and distribution
  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Capital’s fixed income product range and vehicles as well as its investment capabilities including fixed income, foreign exchange and derivatives
  • Proactively communicate matters pertinent to the fixed income investment team to client service team and relationship managers
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to advocate for the needs of our clients
  • Build an in-depth understanding of evolving industry, operational and regulatory topics and assess the impact on the business and investment process

 

Develop and execute strategies to achieve objectives for assigned fixed income mandates

  • Connect with key teams within Investment Operations and capture and prioritise investment and client related fixed income items within internal systems
  • Prepare for, and facilitate, regular meetings with Principle Investment Officer (PIO) and relevant Investment Specialist to understand and incorporate impactful operational items  
  • Work with internal departments to identify and resolve ad hoc and complex client queries and requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring fixed income client operational support and processes are robust and scalable and risks are mitigated
  • Partner with the Client Relations Team to help facilitate and coordinate all aspects of client operational support
  • Significant involvement in FI segregated account onboarding and fund launches
  • Chair of the monthly FI Client Opportunities Review Group (operations subgroup) to keep track of fund launches, account onboarding and impactful operational changes
  • Key contributor into building out our strategic plan for Institutional fixed income growth and readiness

 

Essential Skills

  • You have a solid background in financial services, knowledge of fixed income instruments, markets, and the investment process.
  • You’re a people leader. You’ve either directly or indirectly managed a range of experience levels, capabilities, and working styles.

Desirable Skills
