Global Investment Control directly supports Capital Group's investment professionals, implements investment decisions, and facilitates the investment process.  Operating from locations in North America, Europe, and Asia, core functions include order management, portfolio construction and compliance, trade support, corporate action communication and coordination, and proxy services, among others.  We support the management of equity and fixed income portfolios for retail, institutional, and private clients. 

 

The successful candidate will work independently on standardized/recurring assignments and under the direct supervision of more senior staff on complex scenarios. They will be responsible for processing and managing investment orders and directly or indirectly supporting the Investment Group. They act as a liaison with other business groups.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Processes standard investment orders from portfolio managers and research analysts within Funds or client segregated accounts.
  • Verifies that all trade authorizations are in compliance with guidelines and regulatory rules, tax and eligibility criteria, Action List rating and other restrictions.                                                    
  • With respect to The Capital System, coordinates investment orders that impact multiple portfolio managers as well as orders that are internal transfers from one portfolio manager to another portfolio manager.
  • Performs preliminary checks to verify inter-account transfer opportunities.
  • Authorizes investment orders for Trading to execute. 
  • Communicates with Trading and investment professionals if investment orders need to be revised.
  • Employs a continuous improvement mindset to evolve operational processes.

                                                                                                        

Qualifications:

  • Introductory knowledge of Order Management functions, policies, procedures and systems and ability to apply them to work assignments.
  • Introductory knowledge of the functionalities and operational intersections of Global Investment Control and Capital Group.
  • Introductory knowledge of the securities and investment business and Capital’s investment process and ability to apply to work assignments.
  • 3-4 years of experience in the financial services industry preferred.
