Role Overview

As part of the IG Resource Management Team and in partnership with the Research Coordinating Committee (RCC) and the IG Operations Team (IGOT) the IG Resource Management Team Senior Manager will have responsibility for the management and execution of general administrative and operational matters and initiatives impacting the IG managers and assistants aligned with one of the three equity investment units (CII, CRGI or CWI). 


Responsibilities will include being the primary contact for their assigned equity unit-aligned managers and IG assistants related to our team’s mission of managing the administrative and operational resources to ensure the investment group has access to systems, processes, people and an environment that support the research process. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual to hone their leadership and management skills while getting exposure to the investment group and leaders of Capital.


Key Responsibilities


People Management

  • Primary resource manager for unit-aligned assistants and managers globally - liaise between IG managers and assistants on recruitment, workload, manager/assistant pairings and working relationships, operational efficiencies, performance management, associate relations, coaching and development, and all other aspects of managing a team of associates. 
  • Act as an advocate of assistants driving engaged, high performing teams within designated unit.  
  • This role will also have responsibility for providing local associate relations support to LDO and GVO investment group associates in ‘emergency’ situations for their non-unit-aligned investment units.  Seamless partnership amongst the IGRMT senior managers is expected in transitioning associate relations cover.
  • Recruiting/Staffing: Coordinate administrative team changes and/or coverage with HR and floor coordinators; Understand and help improve effectiveness of IG assistant recruiting at administrative levels; Work with recruiters to successfully transition new associates into IG globally.
  • Coordinate annual IG assistant common review cycle and ongoing development process.
  • Manage floorplan impacts and coverage implications.
  • Collaborate amongst other IGRMT IG unit senior managers to ensure strategic consistency within assistant related practices and policies taking into account unit or regional differences where appropriate.


Operations & Project Management

  • Partner with global IG Resource Management Team, IGOT, Research Coordinating Committee, and operation support business units to identify and address key operational priorities.
  • Co-manage IG administrative and operations projects typically along with enterprise project management office (EPMO) as we introduce new technology, processes, systems into the IG.
  • Provide guidance in developing global best practice training with regard to project and change management for the investment group.
  • Key partner for operational business units to facilitate change management.
  • Partner proactively with various support areas (e.g., IT, OS, HR, etc) working with the investment group to anticipate changes and resulting needs between business groups. Participate in task forces/teams to represent needs of both IG and appropriate support groups.
  •  Identify and ensure key IG and support group needs are taken into consideration as it relates to any process changes or initiatives that impact their business or work. Work with the IG to help understand needs for change and foster strong communication between IG and support groups.
  • Work with corporate communications/other necessary groups to ensure communication regarding change or other initiatives is appropriate in tone/scope.
