This team inside of Capital Groups North American Marketing Division is responsible for marketing our range of Luxembourg-domiciled funds, via distributors, to investors based in or banking with distributors in key markets across Asia and Europe and US-offshore/Non-resident client (NRC). The NRC market represents a significant opportunity servicing global clients and a diverse group of investors.


Role Overview:  
The NRC Audience Marketing Manager is an experienced sole-contributor role that leads marketing strategy and execution for advisors servicing US offshore investor clients. Based in Los Angeles at our global headquarters, this role will closely coordinate with partners across the globe to identify and address the opportunity with these clients, leveraging a local marketing execution team. The NRC Audience Manager will also be successful through building a broad and deep understanding of the business landscape, the audience(s) and client(s) served, the competitive environment and marketing best practices.


Develops and implements the Non-Resident Client (NRC) marketing strategy 

  • Establishes the business priorities for the audience by working with client segment teams, cross-functional partners and marketing leadership.
  • Defines the business problem for the NRC audience by partnering with senior leaders and marketing managers and senior managers (as appropriate) to develop the situation assessment, identify business opportunities in order to crisply define the problem to solve. 
  • Partners with marketing research, sales and product teams to develop powerful audience insights that drive the achievement of business objectives. Maintains knowledge of research and in-field techniques to develop the customer empathy required to distill the insight.
  • Translates business opportunity into marketing actions by developing the marketing brief from which the go-to-market plan will be developed.

Manages prioritization and execution of marketing deliverables for the NRC audience

  • Partners with cross-functional marketing team in Los Angeles, London and Singapore to develop and deploy marketing programs aligned to the business objectives and strategies by leading an agile team and delivering via agile methodologies and practices.
  • Prioritize, tailor and implement Global Financial Intermediary campaigns for the NRC market.  These include but are not limited to:  Product campaigns; Brand campaigns; thematic campaigns.  
  • Understands the compliance complexities of marketing to US-offshore clients and acts as SME to internal stakeholders.
  • Builds and manages the NRC marketing budget to ensure that we hit agreed KPIs and targets.

Closely integrates and coordinates with partners across the globe

  • Maintains a client-facing role along with marketing managers and senior managers (where applicable). Travel in the field (up to 30% of time) to deeply understand the audience and client.
  • Establishes partnership model with marketing peers in Europe, Asia and US
  • Acts as a marketing co-representative with key strategic relationships.

Required skills/qualifications: 

  • 8+ years global marketing experience, experience marketing within the financial services, asset management and/or similarly highly regulated environment is a plus 
  • Prior experience developing and executing successful digital marketing strategies 
  • Global strategic marketing planning and execution experience required
  • Prior experience working with internationally distribution partners preferred
  • The ability to lead and direct a cross functional team
  • Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin and/or Cantonese will be helpful
  • Ability to travel globally up to 25% of the time, and comfortable navigating and partnering with stakeholders across the globe
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or related field required; MBA is a plus
