The Client Analytics team, a part of our North American Distribution (NAD) organization, was formed to create a dedicated sales support team with a common set of quantitative/asset allocation tools and philosophy to improve the effectiveness of the services that we provide today to strategic clients in three areas:

 

  • Sales support
    • ​Help clients arrange our investment services in a portfolio or plan
    • Better position Capital Group offerings in our top retail and institutional clients' frameworks
  • Insights development
  • Product development support

 

​As a Client Analytics Senior Specialist based in Los Angeles, you will play a key role on the Client Analytics team to deliver analysis and insights for Capital Group's clients.  You will consult with internal and external clients to provide quantitatively-driven strategies and recommendations that position Capital Group offerings in client portfolios.  You will serve as a subject matter expert providing direction and leadership on broader asset classes and investment vehicles.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Conducts reserach and analysis for complex client portfolio analysis requests, insights development, sales force training content, and support of internal initiatives
    • ​Consults with internal and external clients to interpret complex requests
    • Conducts quantitative and qualitative research and analysis utilizing internal databases, external sites and asset allocation tools.  Incorporates a broad knowledge of asset class levels and investment vehicles into analyses
    • Develops analyses and models that quantitatively position NAD services in client portfolios
    • Interprets results and recommends strategies to internal or external clients to incorporate NAD's investment services into a client portfolio or plan
    • Develops sales force training content and materials; presents content to the sales force
  • ​Serves as a subject matter expert for the team
    • ​Conducts competitor reserach to understand competitive landscape
    • Maintains an in-depth understanding of products and business areas, including product construction, rules and regulations, sales and marketing approach, and services offered
    • Informs and educates internal groups on complex quantitative analysis regarding funds and mandates.  Presents in person, over the phone or through writing
    • Serves as a point of contact for multiple departments or queries related to client portfolio construction and analysis
  • ​Provides leadership for the Client Analytics team
    • ​Performs quality checks and verifies the accuracy of work prepared by other associates
    • Participates in the training and development of other associates.  Provides feedback to managers regarding special training requirements
    • Serves as a positive role model for other associates 
    • Assists with workflow coordination
  • ​Performs additional responsibilities as assigned

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 5-10+ years of expereince in asset allocation / multiple asset class analysis
  • Business or economics degree required; MBA preferred
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of portfolio analysis methods, asset classes and investment vehicles, and modern portfolio theory; exhibits knowledge in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the department/business area
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of asset allocation software 
  • Demonstrates ability to lead and manage projects within the team as well as the ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships to enable effective completion of business objectives; effective written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates and senior business leaders
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following: Liability Driven Investing, Retirement Planning, Alternatives, and Insurance
  • One or more of the following credentials preferred: CFA, CIMA, CFP
