Investment Services includes the Investment Resources Group of Capital Group. Its mission is representing our investment process, thinking and competitive advantages in a compelling manner. The team works closely with sales leadership to identify and meet the needs of our sales force while leveraging media and technology to creatively deliver our investment process and philosophy. 

Capital Group has been increasing the presence of its fixed income investment capability across all business segments. To aid in this continuing growth, the firm is seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Muni Investment Specialist or Client Portfolio Manager to serve as a key member of the Investment Services team. Based in Los Angeles, you will be responsible for presenting investment strategy updates, portfolio reviews, and new business presentations to sophisticated external Fixed Income clients and prospects in the institutional and retail marketplace.


  • Works closely with the internal sales organization to engage with external audiences as a proxy for Capital Group’s Fixed Income Municipal Bond portfolio managers, representing Capital Group at research meetings, client reviews, due diligence sessions, speaking events, sales meetings.
  • Serves as the primary contact to clients and prospects in delivering investment expertise and capital markets perspective with regards to the municipal bond market
  • Informs and educates clients regarding Capital Group’s Fixed Income portfolio strategy, holdings, attribution and results
  • Acts as the internal subject matter expert regarding Fixed Income investments, capital markets, and portfolios from mandates through mutual funds and presents at internal national sales meetings and other key meetings as needed.
  • Works with marketing as the subject matter expert on Municipal investing and SMA deliver vehicles, as well as mutual funds.  Develops thought pieces, contributes to product positioning, and sales materials development.  Is deeply involved in contributing to longer term marketing outlook for Municipal bonds and Fixed Income overall.
  • Content lead in creating a variety of content, to include competitor analysis, white papers, Investment Insights, pitch books, and ad-hoc content in response to market events and is a subject matter expert in Fixed Income.


  • 10+ years of Fixed Income investment experience in a role as a Portfolio Manager, Analyst and/or Trader
  • Minimum of 5 years experiences working in a Client Portfolio Manager capacity
  • Explicit Municipal bond experience is required and deep experience working with SMAs is preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree required; an advanced business degree and/or a CFA certification preferred
  • Deep knowledge of Municipal Bond Fixed Income markets (preferred experience in Muni SMA), strategies, investment process components and competitors
  • Proven effectiveness in articulating the investment/research process to diverse audience
  • Strong track record and ability to influence senior business leaders on strategic business matters; persuasive presenter, with presence to convey authority/competence at a senior corporate level
