As a Conference & Events Sr Planner (Event Channel Senior Producer) and a member of the Conferences & Event team within Marketing, you will create the channel’s strategy, drive innovation, and lead the planning and coordination for all externally-hosted conferences and events for Capital Group’s North American Distribution division. You will manage the channel’s budget, select and manage agency and vendor relationships, and travel as necessary to conferences/events to ensure Capital Group’s brand image is well represented in the best way possible to our partners and clients.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develops the Events strategy and vision within Marketing to include plans for sales campaigns, commentary and other deliverables that are used by advisers and clients and to influence North American Distribution’s overall brand perception. 
  • Develops a capabilities roadmap to enhance brand experience in the Events channel. 
  • Applies understanding of business and delivery use cases to identify when appropriate to use the channel. 
  • Develops and executes channel programs by developing scope and objectives, setting milestones and target dates, identifying participants, assembling cross-functional teams, delegating tasks, facilitating meetings, and establishing, tracking and reviewing deliverables. 
  • Guides the client in the conception and creation of the channel material. Provides best practices to the creative team to create engaging and interactive experiences. 
  • Prepares and maintains the schedule of channel events or activities based on business needs and resources. 
  • Reviews the execution of each program or activity, establishes best practices, and identifies and recommends improvements. 
  • Manages the channel’s agency and vendor relationships and identifies potential agencies and vendors used for Events. 
  • Participates in process design and change management for the development, introduction and implementation of improved processes.

 Key Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing large and complex conferences, trade shows and events, coordinating across internal and external stakeholders, vendors and clients
  • Robust project management and coordination capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience with communicating and presenting project plans to key stakeholders from the Coordinator- to Executive- level within an organization.
  • Demonstrates initiative by identifying issues and recommending solutions
  • Meaningful experience with plan processes and work across broad, diverse groups to ensure work is completed in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in resolving matters of moderate complexity
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with team members and managers
  • Ability to collaborate and develop and maintain working relationships inside and outside the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field require
