Through strategic leadership the Meetings & Events Team (METS) provides Capital Group’s internal stakeholders with meeting planning consultation and advisory services.  Our vision is to “Advance Capital’s global priorities as a trusted business partner.”  The team oversees 350+ meetings and events annually, which include company management meetings, research trips, internal/external board meetings, retreats, strategy, recognition, teambuilding and milestone events.

 

As a Corporate Meetings and Events Planner, based in Los Angeles, you will be responsible for full-cycle planning and execution of programs in primarily the United States, Europe and Asia.  The Meeting Professional’s  primary role is to partner with business stakeholders and drive results by creating and communicating the value of meeting in person (demonstrating return on experience)   Program objectives are aligned with Capital Group’s overall mission, vision and business priorities. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate planning and strategy meetings related to program content development and objective setting
  • Sourcing, site selection and research
  • Attendee management and communication, BEO creation, onsite meeting execution and oversight
  • Budget management/payment reconciliation and post-event reporting and analysis
  • Special projects and process improvements

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of meeting planning/architecture and event design experience required; exposure to financial services and/or hospitality industry strongly preferred
  • Willingness to travel 20-25% and attend evening and weekend events
  • A creative and innovative thinker with strong problem-solving, consulting and influencing skills
  • Strong business acumen, relationship management skills and commitment to providing superior customer service
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, prioritization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; CMP desired
