Our Data Analytics team is focused on enriching core investment and distribution processes, quantitative analytics, reporting and analysis, and artificial intelligence. We are focused on defining Capital Group's investment data strategy to establish a comprehensive set of data capabilities. We are implementing and evolving to enable the full range of business objectives. We use data to minimize risk and increase efficiency/effectiveness. 


As a Manager based in Los Angeles, you will manage, coach, and oversee the performance and development of a team focused on sourcing data, curating data, and enabling access. Your team will be focused on visualizing investment management data to enable business operations, insights, and advanced analysis. You will also be responsible for modeling complex problems, discovering insights, and identifying opportunities through the use of statistics, algorithms, and data mining.



  • Manage partnerships with Senior Business Leaders, business functions, and IT to develop and promote an investment-management data strategy
  • Provide thought leadership in the evaluation of emerging technologies and its applications to investment managements data needs while leveraging subject matter expertise of business functions
  • Drive the execution and delivery of technology evaluations and implementation efforts
  • Provide leadership in developing solutions that source, transform, enrich, validate and load investment management data while leveraging the analytics workbench capabilities in place (Alteryx, R, Python, SQL)
  • Develop a team that leverages industry best practices, technical skills, and business expertise to strategically utilize technology in solving investment management data needs



  • Graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or related field
  • 3-5+ years of direct management experience; leading, providing guidance, mentoring, developing, etc.
  • Expertise in the following
    • Statistical modeling
    • Optimization algorithms
    • Advanced analytics/data mining
    • Technical and functional designs for databases
    • ETL
    • Data warehousing and reporting
    • SQL
    • Scripting for automation and statistical analysis (R, Python, Alteryx, SAS, MATLAB, etc.)
    • Reporting/data visualization (Tableau, SSRS)
  • Experience with big data tools/capabilities (Hadoop) and machine learning/AI techniques
  • Ability to test software and ensure project solutions align to requirements
