Information Management is a department within Capital Group’s Investment Operations with focus on defining Capital Group's investment data strategy to establish a comprehensive set of data capabilities. Our Data Strategy and Operations team is focused on implementing and evolving Capital Group's investment data strategy to enable the full range of business objectives; data for minimizing risk, data for efficient processes, and data for growth and innovation. It also delivers a set of capabilities to source, automate, and curate data assets to enable and enrich core investment and distribution processes, quantitative analytics, reporting and analysis, and advanced analytic efforts such as artificial intelligence.

As a Senior Data Solutions Analyst based in Los Angeles, you will serve as an investment management data expert with limited supervision. You will provide direction to Analysts and Associates and assist them in completing their assignments. You will participate in the training and development of other associates and serve as a positive role model and mentor.


  • Provide guidance on prioritizing data requirements within a business unit
  • Evaluate new and alternative data sources and new integration techniques
  • Contribute to data models and designs for the data warehouse
  • Plan, contribute, and sign off on user acceptance tests for production deployments
  • Provide input into IT backlog prioritization
  • Provide guidance in design sessions and peer review
  • Work with complex data structures and provide innovative ways to solution for complex data delivery requirements
  • Prototype complex reporting and/or data visualization solutions in partnership with IT and other business units
  • Establish standards for documentation and ensure your team adheres to those standards
  • Stay current with industry trends on data automation and visualization tools
  • Participate in evaluation of emerging technologies
  • Influence and develop a thorough understanding of standards and best practices used by your team


  • 6+ years of advanced knowledge and professional quantitative experience
  • 6+ years of experience with business intelligence, reporting, and data transformation 
  • Demonstrated experience  in translating unstructured business problems into clearly defined requirements framework
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects across multiple teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or other quantitative field required
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Advanced understanding of analytics and data mining 
  • Advanced knowledge technical and functional designs for databases, ETL, data warehousing, and reporting
  • Advanced knowledge scripting tools for automation such as R, Python, Alteryx, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge with reporting/data visualization tools such as Tableau, SSRS, etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Hadoop or other big data solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to test software and ensure that project solutions align to requirements
  • Understanding of advanced analytics/data science tools and concepts
