Fixed Income Trader - Securitized Credit

The Fixed Income Group is seeking a fixed income trader who will be responsible for identifying opportunities and executing trades within the securitized credit space. The trader will work with 3 other securitized product traders, located in Los Angeles. Capital Fixed Income Investors (CFII) has been managing fixed-income strategies since 1973 and has almost $400bn in assets under management. We have an experienced team of 36 traders in Los Angeles, London, Singapore and New York. This position will be based in Los Angeles or New York.

Responsibilities:

• Execute trades and identify trading strategies/investment opportunities in securitized credit
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, with investment group colleagues and sell side counterparties
• Collaborate with Capital’s fixed income investment professionals worldwide to discuss market trends and investment strategies
• Liaise with Investment Operations and other fixed income business units to maintain order flow integrity, monitor risk and improve communication
• Perform additional responsibilities and undertake special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years prior experience of Fixed Income Trading experience, with strong focus on the broader securitized credit space, including ABS, CMBS, non-agency RMBS and CLOs
• Self-starter and team player with excellent communication skills

• Proficient with Excel and other analytical tools. Aladdin knowledge is helpful.

• Tech-savvy, with ability to adopt new technology and champion use of new tools and systems
• Able to work calmly, flexibly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in business, economics or other quantitative major
• CFA desirable
