Global Risk Management Risk and Audit (GRM R&A) is a critical function of the Capital Group (CG) which assists business areas in identifying and evaluating their key operational risks and controls and, where appropriate, recommending enhancements to their controls. 


As a GRM R&A Senior Analyst, you will provide valuable risk management expertise for internal controls related to CG’s core operational business and/or technology functions. This includes independently documenting and testing key controls and providing recommendations for proposed control enhancements.

  • Lead components of and/or perform risk and audit assessments, related to both operational and regulatory compliance risks
  • Facilitate risk directed discussions with business areas (including with senior management) in order to identify key risks and controls
  • Independently prepare documentation based on information identified from discussions with the business area with a view of creating appropriate documentation of the business area’s key processes, risks, and controls
  • Independently evaluate the design and test the operating effectiveness of key controls identified and provide control enhancement recommendations as appropriate
  • Track status of proposed control enhancements to completion as required
  • Prepare and, in some cases, participate in presentations to executive management, committees, and other stakeholders to discuss identified risks and opportunities to strengthen the control environment
  • Perform other risk management activities, which may include exception monitoring and tracking, vendor viability assessments, and other special projects as needed
  • Act as a technical resource for a pre-determined part of the business and, under certain circumstances, review work from project team members for that part of the business



  • Strong knowledge of risk management and/or internal control techniques including of an asset manager’s core operational business and/or technology functions
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including with larger groups and senior business leaders
  • Strong planning, organization and project management skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in areas of high complexity
  • Sound judgment in resolving matters of high complexity
  • Ability to prioritize assigned work and complete activities in a timely manner
  • Ability to identify and interpret meaningful information by interrogating large amounts of data (i.e., data analytics experience)
