Within Capital Group, North American Distribution oversees sales and distribution for North America across various client segments including retail and institutional clients. Their efforts are focused on positioning Capital Group as the active investment manager of choice, providing superior service, sales and marketing experience while broadening our business

As an Institutional Relationship Specialist (IRS) you will represent all of Capital’s investment services while building and maintaining high quality relationships with Clients. You will take on significant client/prospect responsibility immediately and will partner with the Relationship Manager (RM), Internal Sales & Support (ISS) and Assistant teams in a sales-oriented team model in order to be the active investment manager of choice for Capital Group’s Clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Relationship Manager (RM) to execute on the annual strategic plan for assigned territory. Manage and update individual firm business plans by tracking activity and monitoring progress with that firm. Ensure that segmentation of clients and territory zones are updated and aligned with strategic plan.
  • Support sales and servicing efforts by developing and maintaining relationships with territory constituents. Execute on new business initiatives by effectively communicating with external stakeholders and navigating across internal business units.
  • Establish and maintain complete list of territory opportunities. Utilizes list to drive territory activity.
  • Hosts meeting with clients and/or intermediaries including, but not limited to, quarterly/annual funds review and due diligence meetings, and introduces cross- selling concepts in the process.
  • Ensure RM and other internal participants are prepared for external meetings by providing appropriate meeting context and supporting materials.
  • Partner with assistants on critical support initiatives including but not limited to management reporting, CRM data accuracy, and mass communications.
  • Develop unique business opportunities and retention strategies by gathering intelligence on territory constituents.
  • Proactively suggest business development and sales activity ideas for the territory

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related industry experience with the ability to thrive in an independent, challenging and collaborative sales environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail. Licenses 6, 63, 82, and 65 or equivalent required.
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • CFA, CFP, CIMA designation and/or MBA a plus
