As a Market Data Analyst based in Los Angeles, you will serve as the liaison between business units and vendors to obtain the most cost-effective market data solutions to meet the business units’ needs. You will manage ongoing relationships with vendors and will participate in and/or lead negotiations for services.

 

Responsibilities:

• Serves as primary contact for associates and departments using market data.

o Communicates with users to understand their business function and use of market data applications, content and services. Ensures users have the most suitable market data solutions, recommending changes as appropriate.

o Prepares and distributes status reports, presentations and other updates to users and management.

• Initiates, prioritizes and responds to service requests.

o Analyzes resources needed to satisfy user requests and obtain required approvals.

o Monitors product pilots and ensures compliance with vendor guidelines.

• Negotiates vendor agreements.

o Compiles and analyzes market data usage and inventory to identify opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings.

o Participates in or leads Capital Group "buy" teams to develop and execute effective vendor negotiation strategies.

• Manages relationships with market data vendors.

o Reviews vendor contracts for accuracy of business and usage terms. Works closely with Legal to ensure Capital Group’s interests are protected.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred

• 3+ years of financial industry experience 

• Understanding of Exchange Data and Benchmark Data.

• Knowledge of Market Data vendors such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, MSCI, S&P, etc.

• Demonstrates effective written and oral communications with diverse internal and external contacts.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail with service orientation, integrity, ownership of work.

• Team player with strong interpersonal communication and influencing skills that can thrive in a challenging and collaborative work environment.

• Demonstrates familiarity with or has previous experience in the usage of market data products, with an understanding of vendor billing practices and  fee models.
