The Investment Services (IS) Wealth Management team is responsible for retail product management at Capital Group. Its mission is to develop and manage strategies and solutions that align with the needs of Capital Group’s target clients.  The team is responsible for both managing and growing the existing product portfolio and recommending new products and services in support of broader strategic business objectives. 

 

As a Product Manager, you will serve as a key member of the Investment Services Wealth Management product management team at Capital Group, aligning customer needs with the long-term value of the product(s). The primary responsibilities for this product role will include supporting our existing Education Savings suite (529 and ABLE), individual retirement (traditional IRA and Roth) and advisory solutions (F2 Direct at Fund). The successful candidate will lead:

  • Product strategy and planning
  • Product development and implementation
  • Product-related distribution support and adoption

 

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions: 
Under general direction, works as a first-level manager. Manages a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for product(s) or offering component(s). Ensures that products are appropriately positioned and that the product strategy is effectively executed.

  • Creates, manages and executes product level business plans and business cases. 
  • Contribute to the design and development of product strategies and services, specifically Education Savings and Traditional IRA/Roth IRA.
  • Identifies and develops product initiatives to address product gaps.
  • Analyze and monitor product performance. 
    • Serve as a subject matt expert for both internal and external audiences
    • Identify industry and product trends, related specifically to each product line and make recommendations in order to align with a strategic roadmap.
    • Assimilate voice of customer and voice of business feedback. 
  • Influence product direction by recommending forward-looking strategies; considering CG priorities, market trends, and competing project/programs. 
  • Oversight to ensure product information is accurately represented through all collateral, including training documents, literature, digital properties, etc.
  • Manage a team of associates within IS. 
    • Manages the performance and development of each team member.
    • Participates in the interview and selection of new associates.
    • Recommends salary increases, transfers, and promotions for staff.
  • May work with Senior Manager to select, develop and maintain an effective team. This includes: 
    • Managing the environment. 
    • Model appropriate communication, decision making, and interaction skills.
  • May manage on-going relationships with key external partners and vendors, including functional teams, establishing accountability and clear lines of communication; ensures alignment of activity with CG strategy. 
  • Partner with various departments of our organization, primarily Marketing, Sales and Distribution, and Account Servicing in various forums to better understand customer needs and market feedback.
  • Demonstrate fluency with Product Management methodology and apply to our existing products within IS.

Experience Requirements: 

  • Product expertise: 3-5 years education savings and IRA-related industry knowledge
  • Current sales experience or in-field support, specific to education savings and retirement
  • Series 6 and 63 licensing 
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
