“I can succeed as a Sales Compensation Business Partner”


As a Sales Compensation Business Partner, you will be a critical member of the Global Compensation Team. You will join Capital Group’s Human Resources organization which is responsible for supporting the people dimension of our business strategy. You will add value by managing the evolution of the sales compensation plans for US Sales groups, through deep incentive plan design expertise, deep business knowledge and strong consulting relationships. You will lead the Annual Sales Plan Design process while leveraging your project management skills to design and communicate the commission plan (sales quota) modeling approach and its process. Your scope will include the modeling of quantitative and qualitative metric recommendations and you’ll work closely with our Legal team to revise plan documents. You will develop compensation “white papers” to provide a deep dive into the various sales/incentive compensation plans to illustrate both plan mechanics and plan intent. You will lead education sessions with sales management and sales force members. 


You will consult and influence, senior sales leaders, business managers and internal HR groups on complex compensation matters. We’ll use your expertise to develop and implement compensation strategy. You will utilize your critical thinking and analytical skills to advise on compensation recommendations, bonus and variable compensation plans and market study / job analysis. In this role you will develop, communicate, and implement appropriate solutions (programs, processes, tools) in support of providing an effective holistic client and HR Business Partner compensation experience.  To thrive in this role, you are a creative thinker with a passion for teamwork. Using tools like Anaplan, SAP, SuccessFactors, Excel, Tableau and Alteryx, you’ll contribute to the overall mission of the Compensation team to ensure Capital Group’s competitiveness in the marketplace.

  • You have experience managing sales compensation plans. You have successfully integrated analytics, dashboards and metrics to support the development of creative solutions in sales compensation plan designs.
  • You’re well versed in aligning business priorities and initiatives with plan design recommendations (pay mix, qualitative and qualitative metrics, commission tiers/structure changes).
  • Your career has been built upon your success as a trusted partner to Senior Sales leaders, Human Resources leaders and client group Finance leaders through strong consulting, communication, and influence.
  • You have experience managing business client group relationships and regularly consult with senior management on compensation design principles, practices and regulations.
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where critical thinking and proactive teamwork is essential for success.
  • You’re comfortable presenting complex research and analysis using data visualization tools (ie: Excel, Tableau).  
  • You have a bachelor’s degree.
