The Fixed Income Writer will be responsible for creating messaging and content for our fixed income business and strategies. With fixed income a key area of focus and growth for Capital Group, this writer position will work with business partners and the investment group to advance our fixed income story and message. The writer will be a member of the fixed income creative team and collaborate with marketing partners to create turnkey messages that can work across multiple channels.



  • Partner with Marketing, the Investment group, Investment Services and Sales to lead and create appropriate content and messaging for our fixed income business, strategies and products.
  • Collaborates with content stakeholders to determine strategic direction, key objectives and themes for content.
  • Develop content strategy for key fixed income products. Partner with content strategists to strengthen the fixed income message for multiple channels – digital, print, PR, multi-media. Work with key stakeholders to build the broad fixed income message.
  • Work with brand team to develop and foster Capital’s brand in fixed income.
  • Build presence for our fixed income messages through earned and paid media. Create content that can is SEO-optimized and can deliver high KPIs.
  • Serve as the Marking Communications resource for all things fixed income – develop knowledge base for all key strategies and sectors.
  • Partner with portfolio managers and investment specialists to deliver content campaigns, new business books, conference materials, blogs, articles, social media posts, white papers.
  • Ensures content aligns with business goals, communicates the desired message to the intended audience, and adheres to corporate brand standards, style guides, and legal and compliance guidelines.
  • Develop an expertise in credit and be the subject-matter expert for credit strategies within marketing.
  • Responsible for quarterly reporting and shareholder reports for select fixed income strategies.




  • Knowledge of fixed income markets, broader financial markets and the asset management industry.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into compelling, audience-appropriate communications.
  • A portfolio of editorial content that exemplifies superb writing skills and an ability to develop creative solutions, from succinct promotional copy to long-form articles or reports.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with digital, print, email and multimedia marketing and communications; experience in social media a plus.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities; ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at one time while meeting rigorous deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across functional teams to achieve business goals.
  • Capable of working with multiple stakeholders and reconciling different streams of opinions and philosophies into a coherent narrative & core message that can be leveraged in multiple ways.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment would be a plus, as well as expertise in digital marketing.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, willing to wear a number of different hats, have an entrepreneurial drive and an ability to make complex subjects interesting and accessible.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional writing experience, preferably in the financial services industry or as a financial journalist covering fixed income and macroeconomic issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree / MBA strongly preferred.
