Role Overview

As part of the Investment Group Resource Management Team (IGRMT) and in partnership with the IG Operations Team (IGOT), the IGRMT Senior Manager will have responsibility for the management and execution of general administrative and operational issues and initiatives impacting the managers and IG assistants based in our Los Angeles office.  Additionally, they will have responsibility for partnering with and informing the global CWI equity investment unit on priorities and initiatives impacting the IGAs.  Responsibilities will include being the primary contact for the LAO managers and IG assistants related to our team’s mission of managing the administrative and operational resources to ensure the investment group has access to systems, processes, people and an environment that support the research process.  Seamless partnership amongst the IGRMT senior managers is expected to ensure globally consistent practices across the investment group.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with global IG Resource Management Team, IGOT, unit-aligned resources (RCC member, RDs, PCGs, RCS, etc), and operation support business units to identify and address operational priorities
  • Primary resource manager for regionally-aligned assistants and managers - liaise between managers and IGAs on performance issues, advocate on behalf of IGAs related to operational efficiencies
  • Coordinate annual IG assistant common review cycle and ongoing development process
  • Key partner for operational business units to facilitate change management
  • Collaborate amongst other IGRMT IG unit senior managers to ensure strategic consistency, taking into account unit differences, where appropriate


Relationship Management

  • Liaison between IG assistants and managers to ensure effective working relationships and appropriate workload
  • Partner proactively with various support areas (e.g., IT, OS, HR, etc) working with the investment group to anticipate changes and resulting needs between business groups
  • Learn historical issues; work to build upon communication between IG and support groups


Change Management

  • Engage various support groups to ensure key IG issues are taken into consideration when business processes change
  • Identify key issues for IG; work with IG to help understand needs for change, similarly work with support groups to communicate IG needs
  • Participate in task forces/teams to represent needs of both IG and appropriate support groups
  • Communicate with IG regarding process changes impacting their business; work with corporate communications/other necessary groups to ensure communication is appropriate in tone/scope



  • Coordinate administrative team changes and/or coverage with HR and floor coordinators
  • Understand and help improve effectiveness of IG assistant recruiting
  • Work with recruiters  to successfully transition new associates into IG
  • Manage floor plan impacts and coverage implications


Project Management

  • Co-manage IG administrative and operations projects typically along with enterprise project management office (EPMO) as we introduce new technology, processes, systems into the IG
  • Provide guidance in developing global best practice training with regard to project and change management for the investment group
