Role summary

 

The IO organization is continuing to define the future operational model and footprint that will support our business for years to come. We are looking for a strong leader to help move the business forward and meet future business challenges, including increasing expectations from emerging regulations. In this role, you will support the Conducting Officer in ensuring the effective oversight and governance of the Fund Accounting, Transfer Agent, and Valuation functions delegated by the Management Companies for our Luxembourg, UK, and Australian products. 

This includes being accountable for the implementation and monitoring of related policies and procedures, and timely and accurate reporting to the Management Companies, the Board of Directors of the management companies and the Fund Boards, regulators, and investors, as appropriate.

Jointly with the Conducting Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all delegated functions are carried out adequately and in compliance with the constitutive documents of the management companies and the funds, applicable laws and regulations and any relevant contractual arrangements.

This individual will serve as a liaison to the Fund Boards on financial, accounting, and regulatory themes.  Accordingly, this person must engender credibility with a wide range of constituencies through substance, creativity, and the ability to add value.  This individual will also participate in and/or lead various projects and initiatives, as well as liaise with and report to other internal and external committees as needed. 

 

In this role, you need to be comfortable communicating at all levels. You will be actively engaged in defining and/or evolving the governance structure that will support our business for years to come This role will report to the Conducting Officer of Central Administration and Valuation based in Luxembourg, with regular engagement with other Senior Leaders.

 

Primary responsibilities / essential functions:

 

  • Ensures the proper reporting on oversight of delegated functions to the Management Companies and Boards; manages the financial affairs of the Funds. 
    • Engaging committees and Boards on critical and emerging issues and developments,
    • Contributing to accounting policy, and
    • Liaising effectively with service providers, and other key internal and external partners. 

 

  • Ensures the proper reporting on behalf of the Funds to the relevant outside counterparties such as auditors, regulators, etc.

 

  •  Demonstrates a strong grasp of the regulatory landscape affecting the Funds and taking the appropriate action to respond to regulatory changes.

 

  • Defines strategic direction and leads or participates in department initiatives and projects with a focus on continuous improvement and future business needs.
    • Prioritizes, and executes business initiatives, communicates status with stakeholders.
    • Collaborates effectively with leadership globally to ensure local engagement with company/departmental initiatives.
    • Establishes project plans and processes; sets milestones and target dates, assigns tasks, manages deliverables, and allocates resources to ensure timelines of delivery.

 

  • Cultivates and manages relationships with internal and external parties.
    • Communicates business issues or makes presentations to board, audit and executive committees.
    • Consults with and advises senior leadership across multiple departments on strategic business matters.
    • In conjunction with the operational teams, manages service levels with service providers; discusses expectations, provides feedback, and ensures controls are in place for the team to monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
      • Considers evolving business needs, determines impacts to service provider relationships, and plans accordingly.
