As a Cyber Information Security Associate based in San Antonio, you will join our world-class team of first responders against cyber-attacks. The Information security candidate will be recently graduated or in their first four years of a promising cybersecurity career and will have a clear drive to learn new skills while working with a fast-moving and highly skilled team. You will use state of the art tools in a security operations center to perform initial response in order to defeat cyber threats. The Information Security Associate will work alongside the rest of Capital Group’s cybersecurity team in the purpose-built cybersecurity command post: the Capital Group Security Intelligence Response Team (SIRT), who are based in San Antonio, TX.  Working with the Capital Group cybersecurity team you will preempt, detect and respond to cyber-related security threats by using actionable intelligence in our internal and external environments. 
     
Responsibilities:

  • Conduct response activities for incidents, ensure that they are properly identified and escalated (as appropriate).
  • Conduct triage according to well defined processes in order to categorize and classify network intrusions, events, incidents and false alarms.
  • Participate in incident response activities alongside senior associates and management in accordance with the Capital Group Cyber Incident Response Plan.
  • Collect documents and maintain catalogs of incidents as they occur and are remediated.
  • Assist in the gathering and maintenance of forensics to support investigative and risk analysis and mitigation efforts.
  • Assist in the collection of metrics and reports for communication to SIRT leadership.
  • Communicate effectively in speaking and writing (including presenting to leadership).
  • Demonstrate high degree of motivation, composure, and positive attitude.
  • Apply knowledge commensurate with the early stage of a career in cyber security; stay informed on trends and news in cyber security, risk management, incident response and forensics.

Qualifications:

  • Work experience in a cyber-security related field or equivalent course work
  • Knowledge of big data analysis (knowledge of SIEM tools, e.g. Splunk)
  • Knowledge of security intelligence, malware analysis, penetration testing, and information security
  • Strong technical ability  
  • Degree in cyber security or equivalent

  • Security+
  • Network+ 
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
