Our Insights & Analytics team is looking for an insight enthusiast to support our mission of improving people's lives through successful investing. You will be applying a range of market research techniques to the global consumer and market topics that directly influence investment decisions. You will be at the exciting intersection of research and application with significant autonomy in designing research solutions for meaningful business questions. You’ll be dedicated to the Investment Group but have a longer-term career path and development support from the fast growing Global Insights & Analytical function.  

 

You can develop and execute research projects that have impact on important investment decisions.

  • You can engage with analysts who research investment opportunities for Capital Group to define research solutions for their investment question. You will use research to expand Capital Group’s understanding about a segment or company investment opportunity, including end-consumer demand, shifting profiles/preferences, or product usage by designing research that clearly illustrates these opportunities. 

 

  • You can analyze the findings to create usable insights and can communicate and support the integration of these insights into a clear and concise overall evaluation.

 

  • You can share findings with the broader Investment Group by summarizing and posting/presenting what was learned, as appropriate.
  • You can contribute to the strength of the Customer Research & Insights team by maintaining strong functional connections, e.g., sharing best practices, remaining engaged in team meetings, and contributing to organizational projects.

  • You will have an innate curiosity and passion to learn by exploring diverse questions and finding creative solutions to deliver research-based answers. 
  • You have a proven track record of exceeding goals; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
  • You have deep research method understanding including concept and product testing and requires varied methodologies as well as experience in questionnaire construction and methods for improving the number and accuracy of responses to surveys.
  • You have background in conducting research across the globe working on projects that support the US, Europe, and Asia.

 

  • You enjoy working hard and looks for challenges and havea bias for action over contemplation.  You can overcome resistance and take unpopular stands when necessary. 

 

  • You demonstrate an understanding of the basic statistical methods that are used to evaluate research data for validity (required sample sizes, significance), how to analyze data patterns for insights, and tools for manipulating and visualizing data (Excel, Tableau).

 

  • You demonstrate collaboration skills as you will be interacting with a wide variety of internal and external individuals and disciplines and must be able to partner to deliver solutions. You can quickly earn the respect and trust of the teams you support.
  • You demonstrate an ability to analyze the marketplace/competitive landscape, anticipate future consequences and trends and deliver for the business. You must be a strategic thinker and comfortable in dealing with the most senior management both in presenting proposals or bad news. 
  • You demonstrate very strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Ability to successfully communicate with partners across the globe.
  • You demonstrate effectiveness in leading/facilitating meetings with senior business leaders on broad topics
  • You have knowledge and experience using Google Analytics and Tableau.
