The Operations Specialist plays a key role in the day-to-day operations.  Primary responsibilities include reporting and analytics to support cross functional teams, performing mutual fund trade related operational tasks required within our Exempt Market Dealer (EMD) registration, working closely with the funds’ transfer agency to service advisors and investors, and oversight of operations policies and procedures to ensure compliance with mutual fund regulations. The role will provide opportunities to participate in projects which may include the launch of new funds, series and programs as well as compliance-related initiatives.

The Operations Specialist role requires interaction with:

  • Marketing
  • Business / operations

  • 3rd parties (transfer agency, mutual fund dealers)
  • Canadian investment advisors

Qualifications / Competencies         

  • 2-4 years of Operations Management experience.  Strong preference give to candidates with Mutual Fund operations experience.
  • The ideal candidate will be capable of handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously and have demonstrated experience in mutual funds operations.
  • Analytical with a working knowledge of MS Office
  • Mutual fund operations experience, including shareholder servicing and processing (Canadian mutual fund industry experience a plus)
  • Proven ability to develop and manage internal and/or external relationships
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;  proven ability to communicate effectively to all levels of associates
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of SQL query language would be a benefit
